**Primary Duties**

Reporting to the Manager, PR & Communications for Utilities Kingston, the successful student will be involved in a number of communications functions. Active involvement in other ongoing projects will be promoted as time permits. Duties may include:

- Support communications to our water, wastewater, natural gas and electricity customers, and Utilities Kingston employees.
- Monitor and help manage social media channels and tools including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Sprout Social.
- Research new communications tools and best practices.
- Create content for digital channels (i.e., writing, editing, laying out content, taking photos or producing multimedia, etc.), adhering to accessibility standards (e.g., AODA compliance) and promoting inclusivity.
- Implement communications plans and projects using various communications channels.
- Analyze social media and website statistics and measure the success of campaigns.

**Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required**
- Full-time enrolment in post-secondary studies in Marketing and Communications or Journalism, preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products - specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proficiency with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and MailChimp.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to problem-solve using judgment.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, but committed to contributing to and supporting a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated proofreading skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to display Corporate values.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and an understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices

**Special Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment**
- Full-time student at a recognized post-secondary educational institution, and returning to full-time attendance in the Fall of 2025.
- Completion of a Criminal Record Check at the employee’s own expense, and to the satisfaction of Utilities Kingston.
- Valid Class “G” driver’s license, an asset.
