**Field Experience Coordinator**:
**Primary Purpose**: The College of Education is actively seeking an applicant for the role of Field Experience Coordinator who would focus on the Indian Teacher Education Program, urban, rural and First Nations placements, and support for internationally educated teacher placements. The Field Experience Coordinator provides administrative support, coordination, development and delivery of field study experience programs and services.

**Nature of Work**: Reporting to the Associate Dean Undergraduate Programs, Partnerships and Research, and working closely with the Director of the Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) and other members of the Field Experiences team in the College of Education Programs and Field Experiences Office, the responsibilities of this position are diverse, complex, culturally sensitive, and detail oriented. This position is in part responsible for organizing, coordinating, and delivering field study experiences in First Nations schools and communities for Bachelor of Education program routes. The Field Experience Coordinator also has a role in placing and overseeing the Wāhkōhtowin Professional Development School field experiences model for ITEP students, as well as the ITEP extended practica. This teacher education model includes collaboration with ITEP and educational partners that combines coursework and field experiences in school settings. This person will work collaboratively with another Field Experience Coordinator on setting up field experiences for EDST 321.3, EDST 322.3, EXPR 422.15, EXPR 423.3, EXPR 424.3, EXPR 425.12 in First Nations education authorities and schools, as well as supporting field experiences for the Internationally Educated Teachers Certificate (IETC) program. This position is responsible for organizing and coordinating (in collaboration with the field team) the course EDST 213.0, which is a two-week First Nation and Rural field experience component for students in the direct entry program route of the Bachelor of Education degree in the College.

This position requires the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with a range of Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals, communities, and agencies external to the University, as well as personnel within the College and University. This person must be a team player who has strong collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Tact, diplomacy, cultural sensitivity and understanding of cultural protocols are critical for this position. This position exercises professional judgment in interpreting academic policies and procedures in handling student academic issues. Working conditions require flexibility, managing multiple expectations, cultural knowledge, and the ability to meet deadlines with accuracy in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. This position includes administrative duties; coordination responsibilities; instructional duties; advisory/counseling duties; and mediation and public relations duties.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:In consultation with the Associate Dean, and the Director of ITEP, and working with other members of the Undergraduate Programs Office and ITEP team:

- Collaborates and works closely with the Field Experiences Team and the other Field coordinator on all field programs to continually revise, update and automate the field experiences placement process, academic requirements, and learning outcomes.
- Assists with the effective organization, coordination and delivery of field placements in First Nations schools for the Bachelor of Education on-campus and off-campus program routes, particularly for ITEP, but also for students in other routes for whom First Nations school placements would be valuable and/or encouraged.
- Assists with the oversight and coordination of the Wāhkōhtowin Professional Development School field experiences model for ITEP students in collaboration with the ITEP, Associate Dean, and educational partners.
- Works in collaboration with ITEP to support the cultural and academic integrity of field experiences for Indigenous students.
- Assists with the placement process, effective organization and coordination of EDST 213.0, that is the two-week First Nation and Rural Field Experience for the second year of the direct entry program route.
- Assists the co-partner Field Experience Coordinator with the effective organization and coordination of the field experience placement for the Internationally Educated Teachers Certificate (IETC) program.
- Works directly to recruit, support, and provide orientations for facilitators who are hired to assist with field experiences for EDST 321.3, 322.3, and EXPR 422.15, EXPR 423.3, EXPR 424.3, and EXPR 425.12.
- Acts as the primary contact with field experience partners for the day to day support needs of students and programs, providing advice on program and academic needs.
