This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

In accordance with the Temporary Librarian, Administrative and Professional Officer (TLAPO) Agreement, this position is an initial appointment of 2 years with the possibility of renewal, and offers a comprehensive benefits package found at Faculty & Staff Benefits and annual salary range of $62,158 to $103,634.

**Location** - North Campus Edmonton. This role is in-person.

**Position
Reporting to the Head, Strategic Infrastructure Planning, the Change Management Specialist develops a change management practice that bridges strategic space utilization and optimization goals to the implementation and development and infrastructure projects, as well as large-scale strategic initiatives.

Their focus is to ensure the strategic goals associated with space optimization and the resulting changes to work environments are planned for, positioned, appropriately messaged, implemented and adopted to ensure the ultimate success for the end user. They can identify and offer potential solutions for barriers for success, while planning for and influencing positive outcomes, sustained change, and continuous improvement.

**Duties
- Conducts various change management assessments, including (but not limited to):

- Change impact assessment
- Stakeholder analysis
- Organizational readiness assessments
- Change risk assessment
- Capabilities needs assessment
- Develops the case for change including the reason for the change, threats to the business, critical needs that are not being met, benefits of the change (WIIFM - what’s in it for me), cost of not changing, change impact summary and timeline
- Develops the change management strategy defining at a high level how much change management is needed. Strategy decisions include:

- Change management team structure
- Sponsor model
- How critical change management will be for success (risk assessment) and how much is needed
- Special tactics that may be necessary
- Uses understanding of change management theories (i.e. ADKAR), best practice, organizational change management (OCM) experience and perspective, assessment results and change management strategy to develop a customized and actionable, results-oriented change management plan, including (but not limited to):

- Scope of OCM activities, objectives, measures, assumptions, constraints, risks, mitigation strategies, schedule and budget
- Sponsorship roadmap
- Communication plan
- Coaching plan
- Training plan
- Resistance management plan
- Integrates OCM activities and budget with project management plans
- Implements the OCM plans
- Defines and measures success metrics (i.e. adoption, utilization and proficiency)
- Evaluates results, resolves issues and adjusts plans as needed
- Tracks and reports progress of OCM activities and overall status to project team, primary sponsor and critical stakeholders
- Supports development, coordination and delivery of training designed to provide stakeholders with knowledge, ability, skills and behaviours to work in the new way
- Participates in OCM environmental analysis (i.e. identify current state factors helping and hindering OCM, brainstorm strategies to leverage strengths or mitigate risks)
- Develops OCM tools and templates (i.e. leader toolkit template, change impact assessment template, OCM plan template)
- Participates in development of F&O OCM implementations plans, including (but not limited to) communication, training, sponsor roadmap, coaching, and resistance management plans
- Supports the development of OCM training materials designed to build capabilities and capacity for change management (i.e. presentation, exercises, case studies, reference materials, quick reference guides, etc.)
- Teaches project teams, sponsors and critical stakeholders about OCM
