Groupe Marcelle is currently looking for a for a Buyer, Development for a permanent full-time position.
The Development Buyer is responsible for purchasing and source packaging, bulk and products and service necessary for company projects and initiatives. The Buyer will review requests to validate requirements and prepare purchase orders and cost estimates based on the assigned category. Occupying a strategic position within a Quebec-based company, the Buyer will participate in the development and expansion of our cosmetics and beauty care products.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE
- Collaborate with internal teams to support the launch process of new products, promotions, and exclusives at our retailers according to the schedule established for these projects.
- Initiate the purchasing process by selecting and purchasing materials from selected suppliers in compliance with established financial objectives.
- Perform analysis and follow up (review contracts/orders, confirmations, establish delivery schedules, monitor contract execution) on orders.
- Prospect for new suppliers to improve profit margin on existing or future purchases.
- Determine or negotiate contract terms, grant contracts to suppliers or recommend approval.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues.
- Respond to requests from various departments in Operations.
- Participate in the development of departmental purchasing policies and method of work promoting productivity and fluidity of the supply chain.
- Initiate and implement purchasing strategies to achieve the purchasing department's objectives in terms of cost reduction, supplier reduction, MOQ reduction and consistency of supply.
- Manage the performance of suppliers by respecting the qualification criteria & the required KPI.
- Ensure compliance with the various transport and customs regulations that govern the purchase of goods.
- All other clerical tasks required to update and close files.

WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in operations management or similar.
- 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills.
- Good understanding of supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of an ERP (JD Edwards, an asset).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.

- Bilingual, English, and French, both oral and written, as you will be communicating with suppliers all around the world.
- Able to plan, prioritize, and organize.
- A multi-tasker, adaptable to constant changes and production deadlines, and agile.
