MacEwan University is seeking an individual for TV Studio Operations Coordinator for a full-time replacement term opportunity with the Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications.

This position supports the Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications TV studio. The incumbent looks after all the studio’s equipment (which includes podcasting and audio recording as well as TV and mobile video), coordinates and collaborates on recorded productions and live events, assists faculty with curriculum delivery in the space, and ensures the studio is always production ready. This position is critical to supporting media production instruction and ensures the Communication Department can meet its institutional obligations safely, cost effectively, and sustainably.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Maintaining studio equipment to ensure it functions as expected, and monitoring broken, damaged, or aging equipment for material transfer and/or replacement options.
- Troubleshooting issues with equipment and ensures problems are reported and repairs are made, when and where possible.
- Working with other positions in FFAC to ensure technology assets are appropriately tracked.
- Supporting the training of faculty and staff on correct and safe use of TV studio equipment.
- Assisting faculty members in the successful delivery of curriculum by ensuring that studio processes are understood and followed as well as by ensuring that students have had appropriate technical training.
- Assisting with troubleshooting issues on software; requires advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly specializing in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition.
- Working with interns providing guidance and support to the faculty member leading the media production courses.
- Anticipating technology needs as new curriculum is introduced and delivering solutions that ensure Communication Studies graduates possess relevant and industry-desired skills and knowledge.
- Collaborating with technical staff and faculty members to produce event coverage and live streaming.
- Mentoring faculty using studio control room and studio floor equipment as an element of their research programs.

SKILLS

You will have:

- A strong background in project management.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to plan, learn, and adapt new technologies in the studio and the enterprise environment.
- Interpersonal communication skills, including team leadership.
- Technical communication training and skills would be an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a diploma in communication studies or relevant equivalent.
- Expertise (including certifications) in Apple systems, networking, information technology infrastructure, etc., would be considered an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience working specifically in a media production environment. Media-specific project management would be considered an asset.
- Experience in dealing effectively with technical and non-technical clients would be considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
