Account Manager

Brannon Steel is looking for an energetic individual to join the team as an **Account Manager**at its Brampton headquarters. Working closely with your Sales colleagues, you'll play a front-line role in cultivating profitable relationships with our customers including world-class OEMs in the agriculture, construction and mining sectors.
**Work Schedule**: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
**Remote work**: No.
**Building and Maintaining Client Relationships**:
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients in a variety of industries including OEMs, construction, forestry, agricultural, or distributors.
- Build strong relationships with clients by understanding their unique steel needs (e.g. grades, finishes, sizing).
- Ensure consistent client satisfaction by addressing their requirements and concerns.
**Managing Client Accounts**:
- Oversee all aspects of orders, from production to delivery.
- Manage inventory availability and resolve production delays impacting the client.
- Monitor contract terms to ensure accurate pricing, quantities, and timelines are met.
**Client Communication**:
- Provide regular updates to clients on orders, delivery schedules, or changes in market conditions (e.g. steel price fluctuations).
- Communicate information regarding steel grades, specifications, or compliance.
- Conduct meetings/calls to discuss upcoming client steel requirements.
**Problem-solving**:
- Address issues such as defective material, missed/late deliveries, or miscommunication about order specifications.
- Work with production, transportation/logistics team, and quality assurance department to resolve client concerns.
- Identify any upcoming risks (shortages, etc.) and communicate solutions with internal team and clients.
**Teamwork**:
- Coordinate with production, sales, and transportation/logistics teams to meet client needs and maintain timelines.
- Ensure that all departments understand client requirements such as sizing, finish, or special instructions for packaging.
- Provide feedback from clients to improve processes, products, or services.
**Reporting and Documentation**:
- Maintain records of client orders and requirements.
- Assist with report preparation which includes order accuracy, delivery timelines, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Track and manage customer interactions as needed.
**Requirements**:
- 3+ years of account management experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in steel or metals.
- Computer-proficient including Windows 10 / 11 and MS Office.
- Comfortable with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central.
- Comfortable with electronic data entry / retrieval and processing large packages of information.
- Previous experience with EDI systems and processes.
- Well-suited to a collaborative environment that emphasizes team success.
- Strong business communication skills.
- Knowledge of carbon steel grades, technical design, and GD&T is an asset.
