The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the National Government of the Red River Métis - also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are Canada’s Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.

**_ Job Duties/Competencies:_**
- Provide support to Métis post-secondary students at various campuses;
- Assist and ensure success of Métis students facing barriers;
- Ensure PSESP students attend required Métis history and cultural courses;
- Liaise with post-secondary institutions and student groups to support initiatives, activities, and events to ensure Red River Métis students feel welcome;
- Participate at Open House, Career/Education Fairs, and other events on campus, schools, or in the community;
- Build and maintain contacts at secondary schools, universities and colleges;
- Work with the Indigenous community on campus and the MMF Provincial Education Department to identify and fill gaps in services and programming to Métis students.

**_ Skills and Qualifications:_**
- Have an MMF Citizenship Card or a letter from the Central Registry Office stating that you are in the process of receiving your citizenship;
- Undergraduate degree is required;
- Ability to speak and write French and English;
- Must have in-depth knowledge of and demonstrated experience in Métis history and culture;
- Significant experience working with Indigenous peoples, Elders and Métis communities is required;
- Must have demonstrated experience in program development and delivery including promotions, assessment, budgeting, public speaking, and project management;
- Two years of related administrative or promotional/event planning experience;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills; and,
- Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
