**About Us**

Mill Creek Sand & Gravel (1980) Ltd. is a mining company with over 40 years of experience focused on processing and manufacturing aggregates for the Western Canadian markets. **This position will be based out of our Edmonton Office for a 3 months training period, and then will be based primarily out of our Head Office in Opal, AB (Approximately 40-45 minute drive from North Edmonton).**

**Purpose**

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the daily administration and management of the Company’s procure-to-pay process (P2P).

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Execute the P2P workflow, ensuring timely processing and payment of vendor invoices
- Communicate and follow up with vendors on related queries and issues
- Review and post purchase invoices for processing and payment in a digitalized environment
- Reconcile payments to the general ledger and post transactions to the balance sheet, profit/loss and other reports as necessary
- Maintain an organizational system for purchase documents, payment batches and remittance advices
- Create new purchase orders in Approval Max
- Contact seller and place order following purchase order approval
- Enter purchase orders in PO Log
- Maintain & update purchase order log as required
- Close purchase orders
- Place orders for office supplies as needed
- Assist the Finance team with other projects and tasks as required

**Skills, Education, & Knowledge**
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role or full-cycle accounting
- Two-year diploma in accounting or business considered an asset but not a requirement
- Process-oriented with a logical mindset, using reasoning to solve problems
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with an ability to analyze and process high volumes of financial data
- Possess the ability to work alongside all members of the Finance team and external service providers
- Superior organization skills and ability to work independently within agreed timelines
- Proficiency using relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and SharePoint
- Experience within the mining or manufacturing industry and full-cycle accounting would all be considered assets

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
