Project Coordinator - Civil Telecommunications

Job Responsibilities:
Arrange with property managers and/or land owners to schedule site survey visits to estimate and design new projects.

Assist with locating and proofing existing underground facilities.

Create prebuild packages to be submitted to our clients for approval.

Creation of proposal documentation for property managers and/or land owners as needed.

Work with municipalities, to ensure compliance with excavation permits, road closures, TCPs, etc.

Submit utility locates using the One Call system and attend any necessary pre construction meetings.

Coordinate private property secondary utility locates.

Procurement of materials and inventory management, ensuring crews have all materials and tools needed to complete the project.

Scheduling of employees and/or contractors and distribute project documentation to crews leads.

Coordinate with construction crews during the project to ensure QA/QC of all installed infrastructure.

Keep track of project reporting ex. progression, inspections, budgets and deadlines.

Preform safety inspections on job sites ensuring documentation is filled out correctly and employees or contractors are following all health and safety procedures, attend toolbox meetings.

Provide regular updates to superiors and other coordinators.

Manage client escalations and schedule in timely matter.

Assist with gathering required documentation from field crews to prepare client project deliverables.

Provide ongoing coaching and training to team members of new and updated processes.

Work to ensure company policies and procedures are being followed.

Manage company fleet and equipment, ensuring maintenance is being completed at regular intervals.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry or in a similar industry.

Experience with telecommunications network design/build an asset.

Prior experience in the directional drilling industry/shallow utility installation practices an asset.

Familiar with construction equipment, directional drills, hydro vacs, etc. an asset.

Knowledge of health, safety, environmental practices related to the construction industry.

Ability to cost estimate labour and materials.

Experience in project and resource planning.

Good work ethic with exceptional attention to detail.

Understanding of leading a team with excellent leadership skills.

Ability to problem solve issues in the field that may arise.

Highly motivated and able to complete assignments with mínimal supervision.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must have/maintain a class 5 license and clean drivers abstract.

Ability to travel to various sites in Alberta.
