We are looking for a well rounded, professional Accounting Clerk to support our operations.

This person will act as a representative of Global Vehicle Systems using our core values of _**Integrity, Service and Quality**_ in relationships with both internal staff members and external customers and suppliers. As well, they will promote and enforce a safe, clean, organized, and healthy work environment in accordance with Provincial Labour Laws, Health and Safety Regulations, and company policies and procedures.

**This role is responsible for**:

- Ensure integrity in processing of financial transactions and monitor / define appropriate internal controls
- Supervision of the Accounting Clerks including both assignment and verification of work duties and responsibilities, as well as managing performance and adherence to GVS polices
- Prepare various financial statements and reports
- Participate in the supplier performance monitoring process as required
- Oversee the Distribution, reconciliation for Petty Cash
- Validate accuracy of weekly employee payroll calculated by the Accounting Clerks
- Process EFT of weekly payroll and expenses
- Calculate, file and ensure on-time payment of Government remittances (WSIB, EHT, EI,CPP, HST, etc.)
- Perform reconciliations of periodical Government remittances
- Preparation of employee T4’s annually
- Calculate, file and ensure on-time payment of monthly insurance premiums
- Ensure invoices to customers are sent in a timely fashion
- Deposit cheques into corporate bank accounts
- Make all approved on-line payments, wire and account transfers
- Administer Health Benefits and Pension Benefits
- Vacation entitlement tracking and vacation pay calculations
- Maintain records and process payments for company truck-related membership fees, i.e. NMFTA, UCR and CVOR
- Follow-up on current and past due accounts receivable
- Perform bank to general ledger reconciliations weekly
- Update and prepare for review of all required Cash Flow reports and schedules weekly
- Update and prepare for review of all required financials and margining reports and schedules monthly
- Record monthly transactions and adjustments for inventory, prepaid accounts, intra-company billing, etc.
- Perform year end closing operations and filing. Prepare for review by outside accounting firm.
- Support forecasting and budgeting activities
- Act as the primary point of contact to the outside accounting firm for year-end financial review
- Update and maintain all ISO 9001:2015 documentation for the Accounting Department
- Identify opportunities to improve department processes and productivity
- Implement policies and processes within the department needed for accurate financial accounting and in line with government requirements
- Remain up-to-date on new accounting procedures and their effect on financial statements
- Coordinate audits with external Auditors
- In addition, as a member of the Global Vehicle Systems’ Team, you will be called upon to assist in training and evaluating the members of the team, along with the associated duties of developing, implementing, and continuously improving, Global Vehicle Systems’ operation
- Other related duties, as required

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree or Accounting College Diploma
- CPA an Asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience required
- Experience with Sage 50 Accounting Required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerBI
- Knowledge and experience of processing payroll in Ontario
- Ability to effectively communicate and establish positive relationships, credibility, and trust with all levels of employees
- Excellent organizational and time management
- Ability to work independently within specific timelines to meet reporting goals
- Attention to detail
- Professional positive attitude and must be a team player

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
