Opportunity

**Responsibilities**:

- Act as the main point of contact for property owners on the Short-Term Rental Licensing Program. Provide advice and interpretation regarding the Short-Term Rental Licensing Program
- Prepare and provide communication and education packages to the public in a variety of formats; in person, webinar/teaching sessions, brochures, etc.
- Perform a technical review of the submission including review of floor plans and site maps, title documents, etc.
- Review recommendations and coordinate between the applicant and departments to resolve any deviation from requirements.
- Where necessary, conduct a site visit to clarify property-specific features and to ensure compliance with the by-law.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of final inspection, where required.
- Provide final approval and sign the license. Track renewal date and follow up as needed.
- Coordinate any feedback and incidents related to the short-term rental within the municipality (i.e. building, planning, by-law), track demerit points, and revoke licenses as required.
- Receive and review appeals. Prepare reports and presentations to the Committee/Council with recommendations for the same.
- Prepare court briefs and collect evidence for use in court; assist Township’s Prosecutor with court evidence as required. Attend court as required.
- Monitor sites and agencies and determine which properties are part of the Short-Term Rental Licensing Program and which are not operating within compliance.
- Perform enforcement duties related to licensing matters, conduct inspections and complete investigations, and make determinations regarding the imposing of conditions, refusal, and revocation of a license.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as Business Administration, Project Management, Police Studies, Community and Justice Services.
- 1-2 years of municipal enforcement or similar experience.
- Experience with attending court proceedings, including preparing and giving evidence.
- Working knowledge of the municipal legislative framework, including the Provincial Offences Act, the Municipal Act, the Planning Act, and other relevant statutes and regulations.
- Strong communication and mediation skills
- Strong technological proficiency, including Excel spreadsheets and databases.
- Clear vulnerable sector police background check.
- Valid Class G Ontario driver’s license and an acceptable driver's abstract.
