**Program Specialist & Instructor, Front of House**

**Position Overview**

As the Program Specialist & Instructor for Front of House for HTA 75, you will be responsible for leading the outreach, cohort coordination, and in-class instruction of hospitality front-of-house training programs, including banquet and restaurant server training programs. Your role will ensure that instructional programs fulfill employment and training outcomes that align with HTA 75's vision and mission, collaborating closely with a team of program coordinators and support staff to ensure all program participants receive the support they need throughout their employment and training journey.

**Key Accountabilities**

**1. Provide in-class instruction and facilitation by**:

- Delivering food services front of house and hospitality vocational training programs, webinars, and workshops online and in-person, including HTA 75's banquet and restaurant server training programs.
- Providing accessible training that meets the needs of participants at all levels of speaking, reading, and writing.
- Monitoring and evaluate participant performance during training and create individual learning plans to improve learning and performance outcomes.
- Offering employability recommendations to the team based on observations and feedback from participants.

**2. Provide overall program management by**:

- Conducting outreach and engagement with external community members and incumbent workers to encourage enrollment in training programs.
- Responding to prospective and current participant inquiries promptly and provide necessary information.
- Developing and implement baseline intake and outcome reports to monitor progress.
- Conduct regular course evaluations to identify areas for improvement for each cohort.
- Enhancing training and learning curriculums, modules, and programs based on feedback from employers, industry partners, and participants.
- Coordinating logistics and planning of training programs, including inventory and supply management and course materials.
- Developing communications materials related to program delivery and outreach in collaboration with the Communications Manager and Programs Team.
- Tracking and recording all data in Salesforce, including attendance, assessments, evaluations, and outcomes.

- Attending and supporting outreach events, such as job fairs, outreach days, and other engagement events with community organizations and employer partners.
- Representing HTA 75 in all public spaces, including conferences, networking events, and other community and industry outreach

**3. Analyze employment trends and best practices by**:

- Conducting research on best practices, emerging employment trends, and new job requirements in the employment services and hospitality industry.
- Collaborating with the Programs Team to develop and implement strategies based on research findings.
- Staying up-to-date with current events, changes in legislation, and advancements in the field to inform program development and delivery.
- Utilizing research to inform program design, curriculum development, and training delivery methods.

**Role Requirements**
- This is a hybrid position and while some parts of this position can be completed at-home in a virtual setting, this position **has a significant in-person requirement** and **requires attendance various training sites, employer properties, and other meeting spaces across the Greater Toronto Area.**:

- This position will require **work outside of standard business hours**. HTA75 programs reflect the needs of the hospitality workforce and its availability for training and support.
- **This position will be required to work evenings and weekends.**

**Required Skills & Experience**
- Proven experience in adult teaching, vocational training, or mentorship with a focus on skills training.
- Experience in the hospitality industry, with a preference for experience in restaurant, hotel, and event banquets.
- Ability to work with communities of diverse backgrounds and vulnerable populations.
- Experience in creating blended learning content that supports participant skill development for employment.
- Excellent communication, human relations, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office skills, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as meeting technologies like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
