**Primary Duties**

Reporting to the Supervisor of Water and Wastewater, Underground Operations, the incumbent will be primarily focused on utility maintenance and operational performance matter for underground water and sewer within the City of Kingston. Activities may include a variety of projects and studies such as condition assessments and developing maintenance programs. Responsibilities include field investigation and documentation activities such as CCTV activities, maintenance, hole inspection, smoke testing, dye testing, sampling and surveying, assisting in collecting data and records, developing and tracking work schedules for assigned projects and studies, sewer flushing, cleaning and maintenance on both sanitary and storm sewers and repair and maintenance of mains and services regarding water and sewer underground utility systems.

**Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required**
- Minimum Grade 12 Education.
- Experience in Utility construction and maintenance planning or distribution and collections systems for sewer and water.
- Certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection will be preferred, or the ability to obtain OIT certification within 6 months of employment.
- Gas Pipeline Inspector certification is an asset.
- RBD certification is an asset.
- A “DZ driver’s license will be preferred, or a Class “G” driver’s license with the ability to obtain a DZ driver’s license within 6 months.
- Experience working with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of gas/water/sewer distribution systems within the City of Kingston.
- Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Teamwork skills, initiative, reliability, and ability to make accurate and timely decisions under stressful conditions.

**Special Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment**
- A satisfactory MTO Driver’s Check will also be conducted as a condition of employment.
- Obtaining and maintaining a valid DZ driver’s license.
- Obtaining and maintaining Class 1 licenses in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection.
- Ability to respond to calls or emergency situations after hours.
- Rotational On-Call and the ability to work Overtime as required.
