**Primary Duties**

Provides supervision and direction to crews involved with the construction, maintenance and repair of natural gas distribution systems and associated equipment while ensuring adherence to safety rules and procedures. Coordinates activities of the crews, organizes assigned work, and coordinates with others as required, while upholding the Utilities Kingston core values.

**Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required**
- Minimum grade 12 secondary school diploma, plus a Gas Pipeline Inspector (GPI) and Gas Technician 2. Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems.
- Locators certification -must obtain locator certification with 2 years in the position.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and associated regulation such as and not limited to Z662, B149.
- Ability to demonstrate operational competency and testing on work specific procedures. Excellent demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Effective leadership, with excellent organizational skills, resourcefulness, and self-starter, who is willing to accept change and implement it.
- Proactive in developing solutions, seeking efficiencies and improvements.
- Effective team leadership and teambuilding skills.
- Proven ability for organization, resourcefulness and self-motivation. Proficiency improvements. Proficiency in the use of computer skills, including Microsoft Suite of Office products, apple devises, ARC GIS, Workforce and Collector.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid “ARZ” class driver’s license.
- Demonstrated commitment to our values of integrity, innovation, and reliability.
- Must have good communication skills, with both customers and within the department.

**Special Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment**
- Must be able to obtain and maintain as a minimum a Valid “ARZ” driver’s license for Ontario.
- Must be able to react to emergencies and be on call.
