**Full Time, Leader, Prevention - Specialized Services **to provide leadership to the Employee Experience - People Health, Well-being and Safety team at our Central City Office Building, located in Surrey, BC.

Fraser Health is responsible for the delivery of hospital and community-based health services to over 1.9 million people in 20 diverse communities from Burnaby to Fraser Canyon on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish and Nlaka’pamux Nations, and is home to six Métis Chartered Communities. Effective October 26th 2021, all new hires to Fraser Health will need to have full COVID 19 vaccination (have received a full series of a World Health Organization “WHO” approved vaccine against infection by SARS-COV-2, or a combination of approved WHO vaccines). Detailed Overview:
**Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families**:
Reporting to the Director, Prevention, the Leader, Prevention - Specialized Services is responsible and accountable for the implementation, ongoing management and future development of regional Workforce Health and Safety programs including the management of consultants in the areas of Exposure Prevention & Occupational Hygiene, Violence Prevention, Ergonomics, Safe Patient Handling, Occupational Health including immunization campaigns and Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP),that support the provision of healthy work environments; responsible for WCB regulatory responses and policy reviews, as well as, policy and analytical support that targets reductions of work related risks and injuries; represents FH at provincial meetings and engages with external stakeholder groups such as WSBC, HEABC, and provincial unions for program development and implementation and to negotiate the structure and processes of the FH Workforce Health and Safety programs, policies and related resources. Responsibilities:

- Contributes to the development of long range human resource planning goals and policies for FH regarding designated regional workforce health and safety programs consistent with FH's strategic mission and vision around Workplace Health (WH); works with the Director, Workplace Health to ensure FH operational needs and priorities are met.
- Plans, develops, leads, manages and evaluates designated WH services for FH; provides leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, evaluation and the continuous improvement of FH and provincial workforce health and safety prevention strategies to ensure programs align with strategic and operational plans.
- Provides guidance and leadership to the specific portfolio and takes an active role in managing stakeholder issues and disputes and/or negotiating complex issues related to workforce health and safety to resolution.
- Provides overall leadership and direction to assigned staff using effective management techniques; hires, trains and supervises staff including conducting performance reviews, employee discipline; initiates terminations when appropriate.
- Establishes partnerships with key internal departments across FH by collaborating on integrated services to minimize the impact of health and safety issues within the respective organization; ensures compliance with collective agreements, government regulations and applicable policies and procedures with regard to workforce health and safety; ensures compliance with collective agreements, government regulations and applicable policies and procedures with regard to safety; supports Executive Directors and site leadership/management in the areas of occupational safety and prevention consistent with established legislation and best practice.
- Develops and recommends financial and operational plans; develops and manages the operating and capital budget for the assigned portfolio; monitors expenditures to ensure expenditures are consistent with budget projections; implements corrective action, as required to meet budget targets.
- Develops and implements department goals and objectives, policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient program implementation and consulting services; leads the development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of staff education and training programs.
