Job Summary: The Teppanyaki Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking Japanese cuisine in front of guests at a Teppanyaki grill. The Teppanyaki Chef is responsible for ensuring that the food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste. Additionally, the Teppanyaki Chef is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Teppanyaki grill and kitchen area.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook Japanese cuisine in front of guests using a Teppanyaki grill
- Create an enjoyable and entertaining experience for guests by engaging with them and demonstrating cooking techniques
- Ensure that food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Teppanyaki grill and kitchen area
- Order and receive ingredients and supplies
- Monitor food inventory and assist in the preparation of orders
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Train and supervise other kitchen staff in Teppanyaki cooking techniques
- Maintain knowledge of current food trends and adjust menu items accordingly

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Formal culinary training or equivalent experience required
- Previous experience as a Teppanyaki Chef or similar role preferred
- Excellent knowledge of Japanese cuisine and Teppanyaki cooking techniques
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to legally work in the country where the restaurant is located

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

- Vaughan, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cooking (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
