**HOST FAMILY COORDINATOR**
**Waterloo-Wellington**

The Host Family Coordinator is responsible to promote, recruit, coordinate, monitor and maintain Host Family residential and respite services within their designated geographical or case management assignment. They are responsible to recruit and retain Host family locations and to facilitate and support matches between Homesharers (adults/children) and approved Host Families. Host Family Coordinators seek to promote Christian Horizons’ service principles in the lives of people who choose our services. Host Family Coordinators ensure service provision follows Christian Horizons policies and procedures; Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services (MCCSS) and Ministry of Children & Youth Services (MCYS) legislation and MCCSS Host Family Services Directives. They work in collaboration with relevant community partners in support of the needs and goals of Homesharers and Host Families.

**Requirements**:

- College Diploma or University Degree in a related field; Developmental Services and Social Work education preferred,
- 3 years of work experience in related field preferred.
- Access to reliable transportation is required with travel throughout Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph
- First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification are preferred assets.
- Strong assessment, screening, case management, along with problem solving and conflict resolution skills are valuable assets.
- Established relationships and networks within the regions of Waterloo and Wellington are an asset, as is the commitment to a person-directed model of support.
- The Coordinator will be expected to work flexibly; including evenings and some weekends alongside extensive driving within the designated communities

**Preferred**:

- Proficiency in speaking/reading French.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage intermittent periods of considerable mental demands
- Ability to work well with people who may be under significant personal stress or who may have challenging behaviours
