**Reports to**:  Director of Operations
**Location**: 370 Green Road, Stoney Creek, ON

**Position Summary**: The Branch Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall success of the Branch. The Branch Manager must be able to effectively communicate and delegate to the Branch Staff as well as manage and prioritize customer requirements. The Branch Manager is responsible for maintaining effective and efficient Branch operations as they pertain to serving customers, managing staff, awareness and understanding of employee wages, sales, sales growth, and margins.

**Health and Safety**:

- Commitment to safety by following company safety rules and regulations including: Following the Uniform policy; wearing proper PPE, identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or hazards, and maintaining a clean and neat work environment.

**Customer Service**:

- Displays an exceptional ability to soften/de-escalate confrontational situations with customers and follows through on appropriate paperwork and solutions.
- Participates in networking by attending events to build relationships with key customers.

**Daily Operations**:

- Follows proper SOPs.
- Oversees opening and closing duties, as well as preparing daily bank deposits.
- Sales procedures and proper scheduling of delivery services.
- Effectively processes special orders (from simple to complex).
- Responsible for branch security as well as after-hours alarm calls.
- Responsible for overseeing branch appearance according to branch standards guidelines (cleanliness, merchandising, etc.).
- Manages inventory consistently through weekly cycle counts, stock adjustments and negative inventory, hole counts, and proactive notice to purchasing on new job starts.
- Oversees yard/warehouse operations while supporting Yard Manager.

**Business Objectives**:

- Leads the company in achieving KPIs (Sales KPIs, Health and Safety KPIs, and Operational KPIs).
- Leads and delivers monthly branch staff meetings.
- Manages branch social media representation and assists the Marking Team by providing relevant content for web and social media.
- Promotes all Turkstra Lumber manufacturing divisions (Mill, Trusses, Floor Trusses, Panels, Lawson Lumber) and specialty divisions (Design Centre and Trim & Doors).

**Hire, Train, Retain**:

- Maintains staff through recruitment and selection of employees.
- Maintains positive morale and participation in Branch activities.
- Recognizes high performance employees.
- Conducts effective reviews with staff.
- Creates meaningful 30-60-90 development plans for all staff that have a 5 in any category.
- Encourages the use of the LMS and enforces compliance.
- Manages employee relations through coaching, counselling, and disciplining.
- Manages and coordinates training of staff with the Training Manager.
- Ensures day to day tasks are being distributed to employees through effective/consistent delegation.
- Manages and encourages participation in H&S Programs and enforces policies.
- Describes and clarifies HR policies and procedures (Wage Grids, Employee Handbook and The Wheel).

**Administration and Financial Objectives**:

- Contributes to inventory management through ordering and receiving of product and inventory adjustments.
- Responsible for branch performance as it related to Accounts Receivables.
- Responsible for branch performance as it related to processing APPO/Debit Memo reporting to purchasing department in a timely fashion.
- Manages Budget Vs. Forecast reporting.

**Professional Development**:

- Completes assigned courses on time.
- Seeks out opportunities to expand knowledge through reading, website reviews, vendor presentations, etc.

**Strategic Initiatives**:

- Sets targets for Sales and Gross Margin KPIs.
- Supports the Regional Sales team by providing leads, opportunities, and contracts.
- Oversees Building Maintenance activities (office equipment, washrooms, utilities, parking lot, sprinkler systems, fences).
- Completes Resource Planning by identifying skill gaps and managing resource needs.
- Oversees and encourages lean methodologies and projects.
- Complete Capex research and planning with a proactive approach (renovations, roofs, new vehicles).

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Experience Requirements**:

- Completion of Secondary School.
- Vocational training is an asset.
- Experience or knowledge with related products and services.
- Experience of construction industry is an asset.

**Abilities/Skill Requirements**:

- Management proficiency.
- Self-motivated.
- Customer focused.
- Results driven.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Computer (PC) literate.
- Ability to work in a fast pace work environment.
