Presently, we are recruiting a motivated individual to join our regional Health, Safety & Environment team as a field safety advisor. This position is full time and based out of Edmonton. Frequent travel to worksites will be required. A competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate in the ongoing development, implementation and monitoring of the health and safety program, both within the office and in the field
- Ensure the organization is compliant with all health and safety legislation, regulations, standards and industry best practices
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and legislation
- Respond to emergency situations and provide support as required to operations
- Investigate injuries, incidents and near misses while developing corrective actions in a timely manner with input from the HSE Manager
- Assist in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA), weekly safety meetings and toolbox meetings
- Inspect work sites, facilities and equipment, with the intention of identifying and correcting hazards
- Ensure adequate and measurable corrective actions are implemented whenever deficiencies are identified
- Mentor supervisors and employees on safety initiatives
- Demonstrates positive interactions with the client and other contractors
- Complete and maintain safety related documentation as required by the project

**Requirements**:

- 4+ years of experience in construction and safety
- NCSO or CSO certification
- Strong working knowledge of OHS and COR requirements
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, coupled with an ability to work in a team atmosphere
- Strong leadership skills and the capability to assess priorities and work independently
- Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract
