Food Tour Guide and Ticket Booth Agent
Daytime - Evenings - Weekends
30 hours/week, April to October
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable food tour guide to lead engaging and informative culinary experiences through our vibrant city. As a food tour guide, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for local cuisine, culture, and history with both domestic and international visitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct engaging and informative food tours, highlighting the city’s diverse culinary offerings and local food culture
Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a memorable experience for tour participants
Effectively communicate tour information in a clear, concise, and entertaining manner
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while navigating the tour route and interacting with participants
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote and market the food tour experiences on our social media accounts, and directly with guests
Operate the ticket booth in the ByWard Market during the summer season (June-August)
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Fluency in English and French is mandatory**
Proficiency in Spanish or German (asset)
Two to three years experiences as a tour guide, or in a public speaking role
Two to three years experience in the hospitality, tourism, or food and beverage industry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
Passion for food, culture, and sharing your knowledge with others
Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development
Strong knowledge of point-of-sale and reservation software as well as word processing, scheduling and spreadsheet software
Good physical condition - long periods of standing, able to ride a bicycle to conduct our bike food tours
A strong knowledge of the local food scene, including restaurants, food vendors, and culinary history (asset)

Nous recherchons un guide gastronomique enthousiaste et compétent pour mener des expériences culinaires engageantes et informatives à travers notre ville dynamique. En tant que guide gastronomique, vous aurez l'occasion de partager votre passion pour la cuisine, la culture et l'histoire locales avec des visiteurs nationaux et internationaux.
PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS:
Organisez des visites gastronomiques engageantes et informatives, mettant en valeur la diversité des offres culinaires de la ville et la culture culinaire locale.
Fournir un service client exceptionnel et garantir une expérience mémorable aux participants à la visite
Communiquer efficacement les informations touristiques de manière claire, concise et divertissante
Maintenir une attitude positive et professionnelle tout en parcourant l’itinéraire de la visite et en interagissant avec les participants
Collaborer avec l'équipe marketing pour promouvoir et commercialiser les expériences de tournées gastronomiques sur nos comptes de médias sociaux et directement auprès des clients.
Agir comme agent/e de vente à la billetterie du marché By pendant la saison estivale (juin-août)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Maîtrise de l'anglais et du français (obligatoire), avec maîtrise de l'espagnol ou de l'allemand (un atout)
Deux à trois ans d'expérience en tant que guide touristique ou dans un rôle de prise de parole en public
Deux à trois ans d'expérience dans l'industrie de l'hôtellerie, du tourisme ou de l'alimentation et des boissons
Excellente compétences en communication et relation interpersonelles
Compétences solides en organisation et en gestion du temps
Capacité à travailler selon des horaires flexibles, y compris les soirs et les fins de semaine, selon les besoins
Passion pour la gastronomie, la culture et le partage de vos connaissances avec les autres
Volonté de s'engager dans une formation continue et un développement professionnel
Connaissance solide des logiciels de point de vente et de réservation ainsi que des logiciels de traitement de texte, de planification et de tableur
Bonne condition physique - longue période debout, capable de faire du vélo pour effectuer nos circuits gastronomiques à vélo
Une connaissance solide de la scène culinaire locale, y compris des restaurants, des vendeurs de nourriture
