Children's Services Coordinator

The St. John’s Military Family Resource Centre (SJMFRC) is a not-for-profit organization that provides families of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) community with a diverse range of services to support relocations, absences and transitions throughout the CAF member’s career.
The Children’s Services Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, management and evaluation of all early childhood (ages 0-5) navigational support services at the St. John’s MFRC. The Coordinator is also responsible to ensure that all early childhood services are administered and promoted in accordance with the organizations policies and guidelines.
**Qualifications**:
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education or Child Psychology; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
- 3-5 years proven work experience in early childhood education;
- Experience in Community Development;
- Experience in coordination and facilitation of programs;
- Experience working with and supervising participants and volunteers; and
- Experience /familiarity working in a military community is considered a strong asset.
**Skills**:
- Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal and written), Bilingual an asset;
- Must be flexible, creative, enthusiastic and highly energetic;
- Ability to facilitate among diverse groups;
- Sensitivity and tact in dealing with people under stressful conditions;
- Ability to work well within team environments;
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs (Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher);
- Ability to work and collaborate with others effectively;
- Combines excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize;
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills;
- Ability to structure work hours based on needs of the SJMFRC (day, evening & weekend hours of work required); and
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate, certification must be renewed prior to expiry date;
