About the Dalhousie Student Union (DSU): The DSU represents the collective voice of over 18,000 students in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The DSU advocates for student rights, builds community on campus through events, supports over 300 societies, and provides focused services to foster a supportive and positive student experience.

Overview

Under the direction of the Manager of the Equity and Accessibility Office (E & A Office), the E&A Project Coordinator position will help in the development and implementation of proactive diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives which will support the DSU’s commitment to creating a campus and organization that is welcoming and inclusive. The E&A Project Coordinator will assist the E & A Office Manger in the implementation of the office’s annual goals and strategies focused on awareness, promotion and support for a multitude of marginalized communities and identities. The E&A Project Coordinator will help develop and lead a team of students to carry out tasks in support of the Steering Committee’s approved annual goal plan.

Please note, the E and A Office is in a developmental year and the successful applicant will be supporting the Office Coordinator in the evolving structure of this DSU Office.

Duties
- Assists the E & A Office Manager in gathering, researching and analyzing topics, theory and data with issues impacting marginalized communities and identities;
- Organizes and implements projects, events and strategies related to the Office’s supports for students in coordination with the Office Managers and DSU Executives;
- Performs duties including tabling, outreach, promotions, project-based work, briefing notes, office tasks, and other tasks as needed;
- Supports advocacy and lobby efforts;
- Works with the E & A Director to ensure the effective operation of Anti-Oppressive Training services
- Supports and directs project team in performing various duties and projects in coordination with the E & A Director and DSU Executive Officers.
- Complete all other duties as directed by their supervisor,

**Requirements**:
Must be a registered Dalhousie student for Fall 2023 and Winter 2024

This Opportunity runs from May 2023 to April 2024. This Position pays $16.55 per hour averaging between 5-8 hours a week.
