We are searching for a **Manager, Communications and External Relations **to join our Strategy and Brand team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

**About the Opportunity**

If you are a strategic communicator who loves to build strong relationships and bring ideas to life, this dynamic new role is for you. You will be part of an integrated team of communicators, and marketing, digital and design experts who work together to deliver on the organization’s vision and drive forward strategic initiatives. As part of this team, you will:

- Develop strategic plans and nurture partnerships with government, media, and community organizations that strengthen the organization’s reputation.
- Help lead the growth and evolution of the organization’s and community giving program.
- Build and execute on community engagement strategies for new seniors’ living communities.
- Manage issues and support media relations, including acting as the organization’s spokesperson as needed.
- Evaluate and analyze the health care, long-term care and seniors’ living sectors for trends and planning purposes.
- Create informational and interesting content for content platforms, briefing notes, speaking notes and other materials for senior leadership.

**About You**

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability, you bring:

- An undergraduate degree with a concentration in Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent
- At least five years experience in a related field
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Experience or training in community engagement and media relations is considered an asset
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
- A valid driver’s license with the ability to travel
- French bilingualism is considered an asset
