**Primary Objective of the Position**:
Coordination and oversight of Technical Dispatch of Cargojet’s Aircraft. Responsible to coordinate aircraft troubleshooting duties and defect rectification.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide Technical guidance & trouble shooting assistance for all maintenance carried out on company aircraft.
- Guides and directs Cargojet, contracted maintenance organizations to ensure compliance, maintenance requirements, maximum serviceability of aircraft, on time performance and aircraft utilization in accordance with Cargojet Policy and Procedures.
- Manage the technical dispatch of all Cargojet and Customer aircraft in conformance with applicable standards of Airworthiness.
- Act as a focal point of contact for all Maintenance activities including irregular (IROPS) and emergency operations.
- Attend production meetings and maintain shift logs.
- Monitor all defects and applied MEL's to ensure expiration dates are not exceeded and ETOPS critical items are identified. Coordinate, Issue and track MEL/CDL/DMI.
- Coordinate parts manpower facilities and aircraft down time for the rectification of defects.
- Ensure adequate resources are available to support MCC activities.
- Monitor Engine Oil consumption, ETOPS and RVSM procedures.
- Coordinate and document events such as robbed parts.
- Responsible for organizing repair efforts on out-of-service aircraft.
- Assign, co-ordinate, and ensure the timely completion of work being carried out by the Technicians on Company aircraft.
- Stay current with all technical and regulatory training required to function in the assigned role.
- Responsible to meet shift workload requirements and coordinate Maintenance Shift Handovers.
- Participate in team member meetings.
- Coordinate and communicate with departments i.e., Dispatch, Management, and Flight Operations etc.
- Follow company procedures for maintenance control activities.
- Knowledgeable with all company and government manuals and documentation.
- Continuously update the Director of MCC, and other senior management (as needed) on the operational status of the fleet.
- Ensure a clean and safe workplace for team members.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

**Key Objectives**:

- Team members are required to possess an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers licence issued by the Ministry of Transport (Canada) which permits them to certify aircraft as ready and is in sound condition for flight.
- This is mechanical work at the skilled level involving the repair, rebuilding, overhaul, maintenance and servicing of aircraft operated by Cargojet and mechanical repair work on accessories.
- Assignments are made to team members by means of oral or written instructions.
- Repair and maintenance and inspection of the condition of aircraft and engine, the making of repairs, replacements, and adjustments and the inspection of essential components such as electrical, avionics or hydraulic, pneumatic, engine systems, brakes and controls.
- Coordinates the performance of structural repairs on aircraft.
- Certifies aircraft as airworthy in accordance with Ministry of Transport Standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned on Cargojet’s fleet of aircraft and equipment in an efficient and effective manner with a high degree of quality.
- Provide a high level of aircraft Technical Dispatch Reliability.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Service, inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft.
- Ensure that all aircraft & equipment are maintained and serviced in a timely manner.
- Carries out assignments of daily aircraft maintenance and overhaul programs.
- Checks condition of aircraft and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
- May direct the work of a number of Aircraft Apprentices and Trades Helpers.
- May be required to fly with aircraft as flight engineer.

**Key Competency Requirements**:

- Ability operate Aircraft and Engines and taxi Cargojet’s Aircraft.
- Ability to Taxi and perform engine runs as approved by Cargojet’s Quality Assurance.
- Required to lift weight 50 lbs (fifty pounds) for component replacements.
