We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to oversee and manage our company's financial operations. The Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by implementing effective financial strategies, managing accounting processes, and providing insightful financial analysis. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of accounting principles, and a proven track record of driving financial success.

This position is responsible for the financial management for the entirety of Metalogic’s North American operations. As a growing company, the position and responsibilities will grow along side the organization with the opportunity to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing updates to the President on the status of the organization including preparation of the following reports:
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Development of financial controls and processes
  • Actual vs forecast on a monthly basis
  • Accounting journals, ledgers and other records of financial transactions
  • Provide research and support in evaluation of M&A prospects.
  • Review/post journal batches to the general ledger and prepare any additional journal entries as required.
  • Prepare monthly allocation entries to assign costs to individual projects.
  • Prepare all month-end and year-end financial statements and financial packages are prepared within the prescribed timelines.
  • Review, prepare and report on all variances on the financial statements to the President.
  • Support in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Supporting departments on budget targets, managing costs and on day to day activities.
  • Support in the development and maintenance of processes and systems to track monthly revenues to ensure that revenue targets are met or exceeded.
  • Support in compiling and consolidating revenue and expenditure forecasts.
  • Develop and continuously improve accounting process controls.
  • Utilize payroll software to prepare total compensation reports for all employees.
  • Research discrepancies of payroll information and/or documentation (e.g. time sheets, leave time, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary diploma in Finance or degree in Accounting preferred.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Knowledge and experience of standard accounting processes.
  • Able to consistently deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to foster trusting and dependable working relationships.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently on individual assigned tasks, as well as ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high degree of quality and accuracy.
  • Time management and organization skills and the ability to prioritize work, produce high quality results and complete all work in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office suite of business programs and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of GP365 an Asset.
