**Salary**: $2,757.39 to $3,604.17 bi-weekly ($71,967 - $94,068 /year)
Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. The Ministry also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.
**Role Responsibilities**:
Some of the responsibilities for the Real Property Governance (RPG) Sector Planner include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and draft decision-making documents such as letters, Ministerial Orders, related briefing notes, revision or rejection letters and other memorandums.
- Identify and analyze opportunities for properties to support capital projects or other Government needs.
- Consult with staff from Infrastructure and other Government departments to clarify and confirm land needs, identify and interpret property encumbrances and other details.
- Provide Management with background information on new files, analyze the file and make recommendations for further actions.
- Review and provide advice on issues of municipal zoning bylaws, Area Structure Plans and Servicing/Development Agreements with municipalities and utility operators.
- Assist with process development, process improvement, and record keeping for RPG activities.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of _Real Property Governance Act_ decisions.

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Urban Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or a related field plus 4 years of related experience
- Knowledge of the _Real Property Governance Act._
- Sound knowledge of the _Municipal Government Act _regarding municipal land use planning processes and practices, particularly subdivision and development
- Familiarity with the _Land Titles Act_
- Familiarity with the _Education Act_ and its associated regulations
- Familiarity with the _Post-secondary Learning Act _and its associated regulations
- Understanding of capital planning processes
**Equivalencies**: Directly related education or experience considered based on:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for one year of education
**Assets**
- Superior writing and analytical skills including the preparation of briefings, and research for the same.
- The ability to liaise and develop relationships with other public sector bodies.
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners.
- Proficient in the use and interpretation of municipal planning studies, topographic maps and aerial photographs.
- Ability to interpret legal agreements and prepare maps and drawings suitable for work unit's business needs.
