**Local Government Liaison Manager**

The Local Government Liaison Manager is responsible for ensuring that telMAX has positive relations with the local Authorities and Elected Officials in the areas where telMAX operates, or intends to operate.

**Your responsibilities**

**Liaison**
- Identify and evaluate main local governmental players and develop positive relationships with them ahead of telMAX commencing construction activities in their areas.
- Advise and support the CEO and the Executive team on local governmental policies and update the Team on changes in policies and / or regulations.
- Represent telMAX in meetings with local Government departments and, if need be, with other stakeholders.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the local authorities, to maintain the community acceptance, and facilitate the requested permissions to implement our activities.
- Prepare MoUs, draft and track permission letters from local government representatives and elected officials.
- Share relevant information with local authorities regarding planning, project implementation and monitoring.
- Ensure the timely submission of daily/monthly/yearly reports to local authorities, as needed.
- Accompany CEO and Management staff to meetings with authorities, write meeting minutes and report to CEO. Keep a track record of the minutes of all meetings facilitated & participated by the liaison officer in local offices.
- Ensure all correspondence with the local government is in line with Company policies and keep the track record of incoming and outgoing documents in organized manner.
- Prepare, organize and implement coordination-meetings with relevant stakeholders, including peers, on ongoing/planned activities and communicate new challenges in coordination with Senior Management/CEO.
- Facilitate and implement coordination & courtesy meetings at Regional Level when necessary in close coordination with CEO.
- Inform company staff about possible behaviors or risks that will not comply with local Town requirements such as acceptable construction working hours, etc.

**Communications**
- Support CEO and Marketing Department to provide analyses on local media reports relevant to telMAX in the community.
- Advise on the suitability of external communications materials for local audiences.
- Support/ensure that local Construction teams are following Town’s construction rules.

In addition to the above, the Government Liaison Manager might be asked to carry out other duties requested by the Supervisor.

**Your profile**

**Education**: Preferably a Degree in relevant field (Political Science and Public Administration & Public Relations, Humanities and Social Sciences)

**Work Experience**:At least 5 years of working experience in local Government Liaison, Communications, Public Relation, etc.

**Skills/knowledge**:

- Ability to adequately present project activities to local authorities
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), presenting complex information coherently and succinctly.
- Ability to coordinate complex tasks, including assess priorities and manage competing deadlines.
- Ability to consult, liaise, and build effective relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- Ability to negotiate and advocate.
- Ability to verify information from multiple sources, and refine this information into a clear reflection.
- Ability to prepare analytical reports.
- Objective analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of humanitarian principles.
- Good Computer Skills particularly in MS Office

- Hardworking, attentive to detail.
- Co-operative, team player with ability to integrate in a business focused team.

**Language Skills**:Excellent written and spoken English.
