We are seeking a dynamic and committed professional to join the Financial Services team:
Team Manager, Financial Planning

$83,932 to $108,369

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, the Team Manager oversees and coordinates the financial planning process at the District. The Team Manager has responsibility for planning, developing and reporting on the Board’s annual budget. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Interpreting and implementing regulations, policies and procedures.

Ensuring budget development and reporting processes are performed accurately and in compliance with government legislation.

Managing chart of accounts to meet internal reporting needs and comply with Ministry of Education requirements.

Supports management and financial reporting activities, including year-end forecasting and making presentations.

Supervising and directing the financial planning team.

Ensuring ERP systems are functioning as intended and meeting financial needs of the District.

Leading and participating in consultation processes with key stakeholders.

Post-secondary degree or diploma with a focus on business administration from an accredited university or college.

Eight (8) years’ experience working in a complex accounting environment, including 4 years of supervisory/management experience is required.

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is required.

Knowledge and use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; including designing and implementing business processes and internal controls.

Broad knowledge of financial, payroll and human resources activities.

Knowledge of accounting practices/principles, compensation analysis and trends particularly as they relate to the education sector.
