Rail Cantech is a subsidiary of ETF (EUROVIA/VINCI) in Canada.
The company is specialized in the construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure of Class I Railways, Shortlines, Public Transportation and Industrial Customer and Ports.
With a presence in Quebec and Ontario, Rail Cantech is working closely with its customers and is supporting them with their day-to-day operations.
Under the hierarchical authority of the branch manager and functional authority of the administrative and financial director of the shared services center, the controller performs the administrative and accounting function of the region to which he is assigned. More precisely:
1. Assist the branch manager
- Guarantees the consistency of the results and ensures their reliability;
- Guarantees the regularity of accounting, administrative, tax and financial management information, and compliance with deadlines;
- Warns and alerts its branch manager of potential risks and difficulties encountered (customer insolvency, non-compliance with the Labor Code, tax and social risks, non-compliance with the rules applicable to the award and execution of contracts for works).
2. Ensure the accounting and financial management of the agency
- Actively participate in the development of budgets, format them and ensure their follow-up;
- Control the existence of accounting documents and administrative documents, their conservation in time according to the legal deadlines, as well as the place and method of filing and archiving
- Facilitate and coordinate, with the branch manager, meetings to review outstanding amounts, work to be invoiced, work invoiced in advance (positive and negative outstandings) in the presence of project managers and sector managers.
3. Manage the administrative team of the agency
- Leads and controls the efficiency of his team, precisely defines the tasks of his collaborators (planning) and controls the proper execution of delegated work.
**Qualifications and skills required**
- Have a bachelor's degree in accounting with five years of experience;
- Be a member of the CPA order;
- Have experience in auditing (asset); Knowledge of SAP (asset);
- Master the accounting follow-up of various projects and at the cost price level;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; Demonstrate autonomy, resourcefulness and motivation;
- Be methodical and structured;
- Advanced knowledge of Excel software.
