This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

In accordance with the Academic Staff Teaching Agreement, this Term 8 position will have an initial appointment of four years, and offers a comprehensive benefits package found in the Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) agreement. The records arising from this competition will be managed in accordance with provisions of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP). The salary range for this position is $64,901 - $93,754. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

**Working for the Department of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences (ALES) at the University of Alberta**

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- This position involves teaching up to 8 courses (e.g., 4 courses in the Fall term, 3 courses in the Winter term, and 1 course in the Summer term), with teaching obligations adjusted to accommodate other responsibilities. Teaching may involve undergraduate and graduate courses.
- The appointee must be able to contribute to teaching the follow courses:

- AREC 323 Introduction to Management for Agri-Food, Environmental, and Forestry Businesses
- AREC 365 Natural Resource Economics
- AREC 900 Directed Research Project (Capstone project)

**Qualifications**
- PhD degree in the field of Natural Resource Economics or Agricultural Economics.
- Experience in undergraduate-level teaching and relevant teaching and student mentoring experience in classroom settings.
- Experience designing course curricula and supporting student professional development at the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Experience in overseeing course-based Master’s thesis projects including design, development, and completion.
