about the role

**a day in the life**:

- Oversee distribution of requests through GEC Communications Request Smartsheet, assigning requests to team members based on business needs, urgency of requests, team member roles, and team work load.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners across Guest Support, SSC, and Retail orgs to build optimal communications plan for various projects, managing multiple projects at one time and consulting with GEC Communications Specialist.
- Edit communications from GEC Communications and Guest Support teams before publishing, considering Global Brand Voice Guidelines, rules of grammar, GEC brand voice, clarity, and impact.
- Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies in GEC Communications.
- Collaborates with team members to keep GEC Communications calendar up to date and complete.
- Updates from cross-functional partners, Retail Communications, SSC, and Subject Matter Experts in order to build communications that are relevant to the GEC.
- Input from GEC Communications Request form
- Training materials to be delivered through internal communications (ie. e-learnings to be communicated)
- Workday list of employees delivered from People & Culture to build targeted communications
- Assign communications requests to support team and overall business needs
- Build comprehensive communications using information from various sources, considering multiple channels, audiences, and calendar initiatives
- Contribute to GEC Communications calendar, inputting assigned communications
- Collect key information to inform communications, asking strategic questions and enrolling team members and partners as necessary
- Contribute to delivery of thoughtful and time relevant communication to Guest Support teams, including translation where relevant
- Represent GEC Communications in meetings with cross-functional partners, speaking to comms strategy and ensuring appropriate links.

qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, public relations, journalism, business)
- Project Management certification or experience
- 2+ years experience writing and editing in a professional context
- 1+ years experience within an internal communications department preferred
- Organized, detail-oriented, and adept at time management with little oversight
- Excellent written communication skills and strong oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Project management experience
- Technologically adept: comfortable in Smartsheets, Microsoft Systems, etc.
