**Program Support Worker**

**EMPLOYMENT STATUS**:2 positions -Kitchener Location, 16 WEEK Summer Placement***
Anishnabeg Outreach is looking for highly energetic and motivated individuals to join our team for the summer

**HOURS/WEEK**:37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday 8am-4pm some evening work may be required. 1 evening shift a week to pick up Cobbs' bread donation may also be required.***
Anishnabeg Outreach is a large and rapidly expanding Indigenous non-profit and charity organization. We are dedicated to the enrichment of the Indigenous community through the development of many partnerships. Through our work, we foster belonging and spirit building, and dedicate ourselves each day to building a healthy and vibrant Indigenous community.

**Mission Statement**
To assist First Nations, Metis and Inuit by creating a sustainable and comprehensive suite of centralized wrap around services for urban FNMI and to establish Anishnabeg Outreach as an innovative hub/heart of best practices for economic development, training and employment on reserves.

Build processes and tools that will position current and future FNMI generations as prosperous leaders and strategic partners in Canada’s future.

**ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS**
These positions are funded by the Canada Summer Jobs fund. To be considered for this job you must:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- College or post-secondary education in social work, community development, recreation studies or a related field is an asset.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and traditions, with a strong commitment to cultural preservation and empowerment.
- Previous experience in program support, community outreach, or customer service roles is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups of people in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
- Valid driver's license and access to transportation may be necessary for certain aspects of the role.

**PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES**
- Program Assistance:

- Provide essential support to program facilitators and managers in planning and organizing various program activities and events.
- Assist with logistics, including scheduling meetings, and coordinating necessary resources for program implementation.
- Participate in program planning meetings and contribute innovative ideas to enhance program effectiveness and impact.
- Help maintain program documentation, records, and data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Participant Support:

- Act as a liaison between program participants and facilitators, addressing inquiries, providing information, and offering support.
- Assist in participant recruitment efforts by distributing program information within the community and encouraging engagement.
- Facilitate workshops, events, and activities, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants.
- Administrative Support:

- Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, maintaining program files, and handling correspondence.
- Help with budget tracking, expense reconciliation, and grant reporting to ensure financial compliance and accountability.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of program expenses, participant attendance, and outcomes.
- Program Evaluation:

- Support program evaluation efforts by collecting and analyzing data to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Contribute to preparing evaluation reports and presenting findings to the executive team.
- Other duties as assigned.
