The Social Housing Registry of Ottawa is looking for a BILINGUAL (French/English) Client Service Representative for a meaningful role on a great team. We are looking for a new colleague for a one-year contract (with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent), with client service and/or community services education and experience who is detail-oriented, productive and compassionate, ideally bringing lived experience.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of high school. A college or university degree in social work or a related field is a bonus.
- A minimum of two years of work experience working directly with the public.
- Bilingualism in English and French **(required). **Additional languages are a bonus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact in working with clients, and convey empathy.
- Previous experience with word processing and database systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English and French.
- Excellent organizational skills for very busy work environment.
- General understanding of non-profit housing programs and their purpose, or other social services.
- Demonstrate ability to read, understand and interpret policies and procedures.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $46,800.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff are encouraged, but not required, to wear masks except at their desk, and applicants are encouraged to wear masks for appointments. Plastic dividers were installed at front counter. Staff work from home when advised by Ottawa Public Health.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ottawa, ON K1H 7X3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
