**Bargaining Unit: NON-UNION**

**Status: Full Time**

**Department: ECHO**

**Site: St. Joseph's Health Centre**

**Shifts: Days**

Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a collaborative model of education that empowers primary care providers (PCPs), in underserved areas of Ontario to provide better care to more people, right where they live. ECHO Ontario does not "provide" direct care to patients but it increases access to specialty treatment provided by PCPs in rural and underserved areas. A Hub and Spoke model is used to increase knowledge and support needed by front-line clinicians (the Spokes) to manage their patients and build community capacity. It does this by engaging PCPs in continuous tele-mentoring learning loops delivered by experts (the Hub) from specialty areas. As the ECHO model expands, it is helping to address some of the health care system's most intractable problems, including inadequate or disparities in access to care, rising costs, systemic inefficiencies, and unequal or slow diffusion of best practices.

The Researcher applies specialized knowledge of research methodology, advanced statistical principles, and scientific content expertise to research, evaluation, decision support, and educational activities within ECHO. The Researcher decides on methods and procedures consistent with research conducted in other provincial ECHO hubs and implements appropriate activities to support the evaluation and further development of ECHO.
