**Role Summary**:
To support the Health, Safety, and Environmental Affairs Department with maintenance of documentation. In addition, assist in completing all safe work procedures including, but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Emergency Response, Safety Data Sheets, First Aid, Joint Health and Safety Committee, Pressure Test Committee, Safety Observations, New Employee Orientation, and correspondence from Operations and Quality Assurance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the completion of project-specific health and safety documentation as directed by Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager.
- Assist in JHSC notetaking, procedure writing, and New Employee Orientation.
- Assist in closing Safety Observations, Audit items, Training completion, and assisting in conducting safety and environmental inspections of the plant/office areas.
- Assist in arranging and ensuring the development of Prestart Health and Safety Reviews by third parties.
- Record keeping of any HSE documentation in preparation for potential Ministry of Labor intervention.
- Follow-up on open Safety Observations entered by Flowserve staff and assist in bringing to closure.
- Assist staff by responding to safety concerns and making recommendations that refer to best practices and current legislation.
- Assist HSE Manager providing input on weekly toolbox talks and presentations for leadership and production staff.
- Participate in Ministry of Labor field visits and Ministry of Environment inspections and assist in providing accurate documentation and proof of due diligence.
- Various clerical duties involving organization and maintenance of health and safety training records, toolbox talks, attendance, completion of reports, agendas, memos, etc for the Health, Safety and Environment Department.

**Requirements**:

- Actively pursuing a Health and Safety certificate or diploma from an accredited college or university.
- Computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to produce measurable results.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and Continuous Improvement environment.

**Preferred Experience / Skills**:

- Knowledge of a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of claims management, WSIB
- Knowledge of Human Resources Management
