**Job Summary**

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will be responsible for creating a culture of safety within our organization. You will also be responsible for supporting the managers, supervisors, and workers. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements of work on and off-site. This includes environmental, industrial hygiene, occupational health regulations, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, etc. The EHS Coordinator is also responsible for the administration of Environmental, Health and Safety programs and responsible for training and follow-up and managing administration in all matters related to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with training personnel on health and safety policies and best practices
- Ensure that Ambient Mechanical policies are in compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Meet with the management team to define Environmental Health & Safety objective
- Identify and provide corrective action for Environmental, Health and Safety issues as legislated and/or
regulated
- Assist with developing training that is required to meet both Legislated and Regulatory requirements and the needs of Ambient Mechanical including but not limited to: LOTO, Hazard Communication, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, fire safety, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Auditor training etc.
- Participate as a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC)
- Ensure the implementation of the Ambient Mechanical Safety program through effective communication, education and involvement of Ambient management and line supervision
- Work with the Ministry of the Environment & Ministry of Labour to ensure Ambient Mechanical is operating within their guidelines including completing regulatory reports.
- Assist with the completion of all health and safety inspections and reporting requirements
- Participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries and subsequent corrective actions
- Follow up on corrective actions to ensure issues have been resolved
- Prepare and deliver recommendations to department managers, safety committee representatives,
departments, managers, and employees
- Participate in vendor/contractor audits
- Encourage and promote the use of safe work equipment, materials, and supplies
- Maintain matrixes and perform data analysis to identify trends
- Maintain EHS software and database
- Perform administrative duties associated with the specific duties of the position

**Qualifications**
- University Degree or Certificate required (or working towards) in Environmental or Safety (or a related field).
- Working knowledge of federal and provincial Health & Safety Environmental laws and regulations
- Knowledge of Ontario’s Certificate of Recognition (COR)
- Be proficient with MS Office Suite
- Comfortable and experienced using CRM software
- Have experience with developing EHS-related programs
