Aquatics Operator/Manager

One (1) position vacant / 37.5 hours per week

The Aquatics Operator/Manager will ensure the Aquatics department staff is well trained and informed about their specific responsibilities and will develop, direct, coordinate, implement, supervise, and monitor the use of the pools, swimming and water safety recreational, educational, seniors, rentals, and other programs.
- Develop, implement and manage all aspects of the Aquatics Programs for seniors, children, and rentals
- Maintain pool maintenance operations, water quality, repair schedules, daily checks, inspections and reports.
- Work directly with vendors, inspectors, contractors, and suppliers
- Ensure activities and deliverables adhere to BGC London's quality standards
- Evaluate programs to identify areas for continuous improvement
- Introduce and develop new program ideas and enhance services to the community
- Promote the Aquatics Programs through various means of written and oral communication
- Ensure and maintain customer satisfaction with the product and services offered by the organization.
- Promote cooperation and commitment with the team towards the attainment of common goals.
- Manage and coach staff in ways that improve their ability to succeed on the job.
- Enforce governmental and professional laws, rules, and regulations.
- Implement policies and procedures established by the board

**Requirements**:

- Completed post-secondary studies in Recreation or related fields, or equivalent
- Over 3 years of experience coordinating aquatic programs and supervising staff
- Current NLS Examiner, Instructor Trainer-Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and/or Lifesaving Instructor, First Aid Examiner
- Aquatic Supervisor Instructor, Coach 1 trainer, Quest 2 and Aqua fitness certifications an asset
- Pool Operator Certification (minimum Level 1)
- Aquatic Supervisor Training & Aquatic Management Training or willing to obtain it
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven planning, managing, organizational and implementation skills
- Proven leadership, communication, team development, and relationship building skills
- Knowledge and comprehension of Aquatic recreation and programs, including accepted standards, principals, concepts, and related legislative mandates.
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, provincial, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to use aquatics equipment properly and safely.
- Sound knowledge of aquatics programs, trends and developments
- Ability to flex working hours to meet the demands of the programs
- Conflict resolution skills
- Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance issued by local police station

Tentative Start Date: February 03, 2025

Salary range: $43,000.00 - $53,000.00 depending on qualification and experience.
