The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a WCB & Benefits Specialist to join the Human Resources Department in our Winnipeg facility. This position is responsible for administering employee benefits, including health benefits, leaves of absence, WCB, and the RRSP, along with wellness programming, and organizational health initiatives.

**KEY ACTIVITIES**
- Manage workplace injury claims, minimizing time-loss and claim fines through proactive coordination of services
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement workplace return-to-work programs and individual return-to-work plans to accommodate injured workers, as required by law.
- Liaise with provincial Workers’ Compensation Boards as required.
- Accurate and timely administration/processing of employee benefits (activation, terminations, and changes.)
- Advise and consult with employees on group insurance health benefits, RRSP program, EFAP, and other employee benefit programs
- Assist plan members (employees) with questions regarding benefits coverage, assistance with claims, etc.
- Consult and advise employees regarding WCB, leaves of absence, long-term disability claims, return to work plans, modified duties, etc.
- Administer and process changes related to employee leaves, long-term disability claims, return to work, etc. through the HRIS and group benefits systems.
- Consult and advise employees on short and long term leaves of absence regarding return to work, claim status, doctor's visits, etc.
- Coordinate daily RRSP processes (enrollments, terminations, contribution changes, beneficiaries, etc.)
- Distribute informational materials for benefits orientations, enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
- Keep current on external trends and applicable benefits legislation
- Obtain WCB clearance certificates for our operations
- Maintain, file, and organize the confidential medical records database
- Participate in health fairs and host in-house benefits and RRSP educational events
- Prepare key performance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends to improve processes, ensure resources are appropriately allocated, maximize efficiency, and enhance employee satisfaction.
- Aiding and supporting the Human Resource team with miscellaneous projects.

**SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE**

**_ Education_**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or another related field could be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of federal and provincial laws pertinent to WCB and benefits administration

**_ Experience_**
- Proven work experience as a WCB / Benefits Advisor or similar role would be considered an asset
- Work experience in transportation industry or related field considered an asset
- Strong understanding of benefits plan administration and/or familiarity with group insurance plans

**_ Skills_**
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French & English
- Written and verbal English is required. Written and verbal French is considered a strong asset. Strong written and verbal skill in other languages may also be an asset.
