**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Our **Edmonton location** at **Calmont Truck** **Centre **is currently accepting resumes from organized, **team-oriented** individuals who are looking for a career as a **Purchasing Clerk.**

As a **Purchasing Clerk, **you will procure parts, create purchase orders, oversee department expenditures and perform related administrative functions. Other job duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Maintaining a working technical knowledge of parts to be purchased.
- Maintaining an up-to-date parts price list.
- Purchases the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price according to need.
- Arranges the payment of duty and freight charges.
- Preparing purchase orders, soliciting bid proposals and reviewing requisitions for goods and services.
- Negotiating and administering contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
- Monitoring shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems, trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods.
- Returning parts and removing them from inventory after credit is received.
- Matching purchase orders and invoices, adjusting the price and quantity and forwarding to the Accounting department.
- Assisting Accounting with any claims, credit, or inventory discrepancies, as requested.

**DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in parts purchasing/procurement.
- Experience with CDK considered an asset.
- Valid class 5 Drivers Licen
- Energetic and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience with MS Word and Excel.
