Taproom Manager

**About the Role**:
This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the taproom and coordination of events by appropriately staffing the brewery; ensuring staff have everything they need to successfully and efficiently complete their tasks, and customers have positive, comfortable, and memorable experiences.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Resource Management**
- Assist with staff recruitment and training and manage a strong team of service staff.
- Prepare work schedules that will accommodate day-to-day service needs, peak hours, scheduled events as well as cover contingency.
- Oversee day-to-day service delivery while monitoring employee performance and offering constructive feedback.

**Day to Day Operations**
- Identify marketing needs/opportunities to generate further interest in the company.
- Review sales and beverage costs to ensure maximum highest profitability.
- Report to owners on budgeting, expenditures, staff performance, customer satisfaction and inventory
- Maintain advance level of proficiency with payment system and point-of-sale software.
- Ensure proper cash management, report any accounting discrepancies, handling cash deposits.
- Ensure quality control of products and verify shelf life of consumables.

**Service Standards**
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and according to company guidelines, briefing owners when necessary.
- Accommodate customer special needs or requests.

**Maintenance**
- Maintain a safe and clean establishment / work environment - bar area, retail space, washrooms, taprooms, patios etc.
- Ensure health regulations are being observed and identify possible violations.

**Inventory Monitoring/Reporting**
- Institute controls preventing alcohol wastage or excess pouring.

**Purchase Orders/Service Provider Contracts**
- Ensure service contracts are being fulfilled, communicating with service provider, suppliers when required.

**Additional Requirements & Qualifications**:

- Completion of secondary school required
- Post-secondary education in business management an asset
- Smart Serve Certificate required
- Food Handling Certificate required
- 5 years in the food and beverage industry preferred
- 3 years of serving experience preferred
- 2 years of related management experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications required
- Excellent knowledge of craft beer and beer styles an asset
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to problem-solve and deal with unique customer situations
- Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Proactive, self-reliant, motivated, professional, and responsible
- Ability to lift an/or move heavy objects up to at least 60 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, lift and bend for long periods of time

**Salary**: $17.00-$25.00 per hour
