**MARINE PATINER**

Fleet Maintenance Unit

You are results-driven with a strong focus on personal and Company objectives. You show respect for Employer’s tools and property and possess excellent technical abilities. You perform preparatory work on buildings, vessels, and car decks, using mechanical or chemical methods. You paint terminals and vessels using a variety of paint products and equipment including brushes, rollers, and air spray.

You effectively pre-plan for jobs by reading plans and drawings to determine painting specifications and obtain required equipment. You further provide a lead hand role for new employees and apprentices, and include input for performance assessment. Your other responsibilities include traveling to job sites, drywall preparation, refinishing furniture, and assisting other trades in work.

You hold a BC or interprovincial TQ in Painting and Decorating, or a Certificate of Apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating. You have a basic knowledge of WCB regulations and safe working practices, a working knowledge of relevant materials and tools, and a background in Commercial, Industrial or Shipyard painting.
