The Health and Food Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a health and safety culture throughout Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality. They works closely with the operations management teams to ensure compliance throughout the Back and Front of House departments. **Job Description**:

- Design and implement workplace processes and procedures that help protect workers from hazardous work conditions
- Oversee employee accidents; investigate the accidents, analyze possible causes and recommend suggestions for improvement, submit all accident reports (WSIB,WCB)
- Assist with employee’s return to work program, modified duties, and any additional training
- Review, document and follow up on all hazard reporting
- Manage COVID-19 in the workplace, including active cases, monitoring evolving restrictions and updates as necessary
- Work with the safety captains and Joint Health and Safety Committee to inspect and test work areas for potential accident and health hazards and implement appropriate control measures (including daily workplace audits, review JHSC audits and participation on the Joint Health and Safety Committee, hold annual meeting)
- Oversee the fire safety program, including fire inspections and fire safety plans
- Manage the coordination and documentation of training seminars including CPR, Food Handler’s and other training courses
- Manage the development and communication of Occupational Heath and Safety updates and processes
- Job Hazard Analysis and creation of Standard Operating Procedures
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment and the reduction of lost time due to occupational injury or illness
- Assist in special projects and duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in the hospitality sector an asset
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health and safety program delivery and management an asset
- HR experience and degree/diploma an asset
- Experience in a leadership role as asset
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation combined with training in hazard recognition, assessment and control would be an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Problem solving skills
