Destination Canada is looking for a **Coop, Environmental Programs **to join our team in Vancouver as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.

Destination Canada’s environmental sustainability activities take place in ten countries, and this is an excellent opportunity actively participate in the design and implementation of environmental sustainability activities. This opportunity will provide the co-op with real-life experience working with a Federal Crown corporation

Under the direction of the Senior Director, Procurement & Environmental Programs, the co-op provides supply chain, administrative, and project co-ordination support to the Procurement & Environmental Programs unit as well as ad hoc projects and programs to meet the department’s goals and objectives.

***DUTIES**:

- Assist in tracking and communication of environmental metrics.
- Analyze environmental data and metrics.
- Work with key stakeholders and suppliers to create recommendations on improving environmental sustainability and reducing environmental impacts.
- Research and identify creative ways for Destination Canada to reduce its carbon footprint.
- Assist in the promotion of environmental performance and results to staff and executives.
- Support the design and delivery of environmental training to address any gaps identified.
- Assist in the development of environmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with periodic assessments or inspections of environmental sustainability tactics to identify and correct deficiencies.
- Provides exceptional customer service to Destination Canada (DC) staff in accessing environmental services.
- Assist in preparing and maintains environmental files, archives files according to records management policies.

**Essential Qualifications**

***EDUCATION**:

- Completion of most courses to obtain a degree or certificate in a relevant field of study, such as environmental sciences or sustainability.
- Participation in a co-op program by a university is an asset
- Concentrating in Supply Chain Management/ Procurement/ Logistics
- Good understanding and hands on experience with procurement activities
- A self-starter who can contribute as a team player
- Ability to work under pressure with a high level of commitment to meeting deadlines and providing quality work

**ABILITIES**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with highly developed follow-up skills
- Proactive and results-oriented
- Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to remain efficient and supportive in a fast-paced environment
- High level of interpersonal and networking skills
- Strong problem solving techniques
- Advanced user skills of Microsoft Office Suite
