**The Opportunity**:
For over three decades the International Children’s Festival of the Arts has served as a signature cultural event for the region. This magical festival transforms downtown St. Albert into a world where the only limitation is one’s imagination.

**Responsibilities of this position include**:

- Work closely with the Volunteer Team and under the guidance of the Festival Volunteer Manager.
- Ensure appropriate support and training for volunteers; plan training and orientation workshops for incoming and returning volunteers.
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies, including presentations at schools, community organizations and volunteer fairs.
- Set up and assist in the operation of Volunteer Headquarters.
- During Festival, provide onsite registration, scheduling and orientation ensuring that all information and documentation is supplied, ensuring that a safe environment is maintained to the International Children’s Festival expectations.
- Provide assistance, as required, to Festival patrons, volunteers, artists, and staff.
- Assist with post-Festival documentation and reporting.
- Plan and implement formal and informal volunteer recognition activities.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a High School Diploma plus at least one year of post-secondary education in a related field. Significant directly related experience may be considered as equivalent in lieu of post-secondary education.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience and demonstrated leadership; administrative experience is necessary.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and access to a personal vehicle for work use.
- First Aid & CPR certification (must be valid prior to Festival).
- Strong workshop and coaching skills.
- Prior volunteer coordination experience.
- Very detail oriented and able to multi-task.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Better Impact software and other databases.

**Hours of Work**:
10 - 40 hours per week based on operational needs, to a maximum of 475 hours.

**Compensation**:
Starting at $19.50 - $23.74 per hour

**TERM**:
February 21, 2023 to June 14, 2023
