**Job Description**:
We have an exciting role with our global Compliance team based in Toronto. As a Manager, Compliance, you will be involved in a variety of important enterprise compliance matters including the development and ongoing enhancement of policies, procedures, and controls; the development and delivery of compliance education and training; compliance risk management activities; compliance investigations; compliance reporting to CPP Investments’ senior management and Board of Directors; CPP Investments’ Privacy and Cyber-security programs and special projects. Reporting to a Managing Director, Compliance the Manager, Compliance will be part of a team of a dynamic global team of high-performing compliance and legal professionals who engage directly with senior leadership, business and enablement personnel to help them effectively manage regulatory risk and understand, navigate and comply with CPP Investments’ legal and regulatory requirements in a manner consistent with our Guiding Principles and our mandate to manage the funds that are transferred to the CPP in the best interests of 21 million CPP contributors and beneficiaries.

**Role-Specific Accountabilities Include**:
- Working alongside your Compliance colleagues, provide timely and thoughtful advice and support to business and enablement units and your CPP Investments' colleagues on a broad range of enterprise compliance matters including enterprise and regulatory risk management, personal investments and trading, conflicts of interest and Code of Conduct-related matters.
- Monitor global regulatory developments and advise as to the impact, risks and opportunities flowing from these developments.
- Working alongside global Compliance colleagues, provide timely and thoughtful responses to requests for direction or guidance relating to compliance or other regulatory matters from across CPP Investments, based on your Fund-level awareness of our compliance responsibilities and regulatory expectations.
- Supporting internal investigations and incident management processes and preparing related reports.
- Support CPP Investments’ cyber-security program.
**Qualifications**:
- LL.B./LL.M or JD required, with 3-5 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience at a major law firm or an in-house corporate legal department for an asset management company or institutional investor. Litigation or regulatory experience is an asset.
- Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills couple with excellent written and communication skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work cooperatively with different stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, flexible, adaptable, with strong organizational skills and able to manage ambiguity, multiple projects and deadlines without compromising quality.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the investment industry including relevant regulatory and compliance best practices applicable to CPP Investments' global activities.
- Demonstrated good judgment, professionalism and integrity.
