The Office of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Precinct Properties Branch (PPB) is responsible for all capital works renovation/restoration projects, mechanical and electrical upgrades, repairs and the day-to-day maintenance of the Legislative building and grounds. PPB is seeking a Project Management Consultant who will lead and manage all phases of design, construction a,nd conservation processes of the Legislative Building and grounds at Queen’s Park.We are an integrated office that utilizes a dynamic team of architects, engineers, conservators and researchers, and industry specialists driven by a singular goal to help preserve Ontario's Legislative building while supporting the unique building program and functions.

**What You’ll Do**:
**You’ll act with integrity to**:

- Ensure the achievement of overall project objectives; monitor design activities to ensure design and implementation are in accordance with relevant standards, policies and procedures
- Ensure that projects meet critical target dates, are within budget and completed to a high standard of quality
- Demonstrate sound judgement, tact, discretion and sensitivity to the political environment, as well the ability to work quickly and under pressure

**You’ll support our collaboration as you**:

- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams of professional, technical and administrative private sector consultants and construction contractors
- Lead and manage all phases of design and construction of capital construction projects including major repair, retrofit and alterations
- Oversee the preparation of design and construction documents by various consultants
- Provide Contract Administration services for internally designed projects
- Coordinate internal and external resources for development of detailed project requirements including preparation of scopes of work for request for proposals and request for tenders for consultants and contractors, and review and evaluate proposals
- Work collaboratively with other project managers, designers and maintenance team members to effectively problem solve often-complex building issues while balancing architectural, engineering and heritage building priorities.
- Work collaboratively with contractors, consultants and stakeholders in managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously.

**How You Qualify**:
**You demonstrate excellence through your**:

- Exceptional project management skills with respect to complex capital and renovation projects, preferably with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Related experience with heritage buildings would be considered an asset
- Equivalent university education with excellent practical and technical knowledge of Architecture and/or Engineering and Heritage practices and principles.
- Membership in an accredited design, engineering or management association will complement your knowledge of design, project management administration, construction methodologies, and related legislation
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Understanding of design and construction legal practices and principals as related to owner, consultant and contractor relationships
- Ability to work in an environment that regularly functions with aggressive timelines and ability to manage several key priorities simultaneously
- Superior problem solving, judgment and analytical skills
- In-depth working knowledge the Ontario Building Code and other applicable codes and standards
- Strong technical knowledge and organizational skills

The Office of the Assembly is currently in a flexible workplace pilot program. The program permits employees in certain positions to work up to a maximum of 2 days per week for some of their regular scheduled hours from a mutually agreed upon location away from the office without compromising the efficiency and effectiveness of the Office of the Assembly business or overall service delivery.
