As an integral member of the facilities team, you have a broad range of skills and will be responsible for performing preventive and routine maintenance such as: general repairs, power washing, plumbing, painting and moving equipment, furniture and boxes. In addition, this role will be required to handle various tasks such as: security and emergency preparedness, special events and/or projects and responding to employee maintenance requests.

This position will involve weekend and on-call work in the evenings with the potential for full-time work during July and August.

**Responsibilities**:

- General repairs
- Handle a variety of general building maintenance requests related to electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry
- Make routine electrical repairs such as lamp replacement, and changing ballasts
- Conduct routine security checks throughout the shift
- Move equipment, furniture, boxes
- Assist with deliveries
- Assist with traffic control as required
- Assist with room setup and tear down involving the dismantling of equipment and furniture before and after events
- Assist with shipping and receiving
- Assist with opening / closing campus
- Provide after-hours ‘on call duty’ as required
- Remove snow from walkways, stairs, parking lots and devices as required
- Power washing as required
- Act as back-up support to facilities day staff and handle requests that may not have been completed during the day
- Performs other duties as required

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- Self-motivated team player with proven organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to varying assignments along with the flexibility to adjust to changing schedules as required
- Effective communicator with demonstrated high degree of accuracy and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Sound judgment and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations an asset
- General knowledge of building operations such as HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, plumbing and control systems an asset
- Comfortable working alone and as part of a team
