**About the role**

We’re looking for a Personal Lines Specialist to join our growing team

**Here are a few ways you'll make a difference**:

- Share your technical expertise to provide guidance on risk selection including authorization of limits beyond regional authority and may support actuarial reviews on large accounts.
- Participate in the development of business processes and provide input in the development of system functionality and implementation.
- Develop, deliver and maintain training and quality review programs for the Personal Lines Underwriting staff.
- Regional point person for Corporate underwriting audits, including the review of staff audit results to identify training opportunities and working with the Underwriters and the Auditors for audit appeals.
- Participate in the development and modification of risk selection, rate manuals and underwriting guidelines as well as in the research and development of personal lines products and initiatives.
- Demonstrate your profitability and coverage analysis skills to support regional sales and retention initiatives.
- Show us your teamwork Participate in projects and committees to support and drive Intact’s strategic direction in Personal Lines.

**What you bring to the table**:

- University degree/College diploma preferred or combination of education and relevant business experience.
- CIP or FCIP designation an asset.
- 5+ years of personal lines underwriting experience.
- Strong technical understanding of coverage, products and Intact underwriting guidelines.
- Awareness of community conditions, applicable laws & regulations, and competitor activity.
- Ability to set clear objectives and monitor the progress of multiple projects against deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to develop and foster favourable business relationships, conduct presentations in formal settings, and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to make quick decisions on complex situations and take calculated risks.
