**FOOD MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
**Who we are**:
From humble beginnings, Agrocrop; a proudly packaged Canadian company that has grown through persistence, focused efforts, appropriate risk taking with a commitment of discipline is growing and opening a new facility with new product categories. This will be a full RTE facility with 5 new product categories.
**The Role**:
Agrocrop is looking for an experienced Product Development Manager with a growth mindset. Reporting to the Director of R&D, this position will be responsible for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop private label products in accordance with category strategies and ensure product performance and quality adhere to brand standards and expectations. This position will be responsible for providing technical, sensory, and quality expertise to managing teams and vendors.
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Working with a newly created team within a high growth organization and category. Very fast paced environment with exposure to several products.
- Develops and refines the processing of ingredients into food products and determines nutritional values
- Documents ingredients, formulations and processes
- Runs plants trial and responsible for full scale up - from bench to plant (dependent on production schedule)
- Conduct product evaluations of potential alternate suppliers and provide recommendations to the business teams.
- Collect, review, and approve product specifications for approved product formulations.
- Resolve formulation related issues that may arise from first production, and/or vendor ingredient/formulation changes.
- Provide product/category technical expertise to Corporate Brands, procurement, and vendors as required.
- Conduct market reviews, product evaluations and make recommendations to align with competitive landscape.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- University degree in Food Science or related field.
- 5 - 7 years related experience in the food industry with a minimum 3 years management experience required.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook platform, including Teams.
- Genesis experience would be an asset.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Strong communication skills: ability to communicate information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, fast learner, and quick thinker.
- **REQUIRES STRONG FOOD SCIENCE BACKGROUND WITH PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REVERSE ENGINEERING AMBIENT SAUCE AND CONDIMENT PRODUCTS AS WELL AS MANAGE A HIGH PERFORMING TEAM.**_
