JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, COVID-19 Response, the Program Manager Outbreak Management is responsible for coordinating the management of COVID-19 outbreaks as well as other outbreaks of public health significance in community and institutional settings. Responsibilities include: recruitment, supervision and evaluation of staff and participating in division manager communicable disease after-hours on-call coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
- Baccalaureate degree in a health discipline or a related discipline pertinent to job functions combined with relevant management training and management. Relevant postgraduate degree is an asset.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Proven ability to foster staff, multi-disciplinary work teams and organizational development towards excellence in service delivery
- Progressively responsible management experience, preferably in public health or municipal services sector
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Infectious Disease and Infection Control Management and surveillance
- Knowledge of the Health Protection and Promotion Act and its Regulations, Ontario Public Health Standards and other relevant legislation
- Possess a demonstrated record of strong leadership and guidance, innovation/creativity, empowerment and results orientation
- Previous experience in the preparation of documents and technical reports and previous experience preparing reports to Council.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations as it relates to the position
